Literature Text

A violent wind tears through these valleys, unjust
As tears drain off from the heavens
The trees, they bow, and the flowers they quiver
To the heartless tune of a sixteen-gauge.

Hugging the turns like somebody dear
Wet gravel cracks under wheels
And lights that blind flash the warning

So it seems you were swept away
Long before what would be your day
And I would rip the world apart
To blow that wind straight back to hell

And let the rain fall down
To wash away the blood of the innocent
And make a place for the blood of the guilty

Pushed to the edge
The rain will avenge

Cracking thunder rips down to earth
With the voice of a loaded gun
The law tells me not be a man
I guess I'll have to do it anyway

So it seems the tides have turned
Not long ago you were in control
Just know that you dug your grave
The instant you pulled that trigger

Now the rain will fall down
To wash away the blood of the innocent
To make a place for the blood of the guilty

And now you will drown
To the sounds of a six-gun thunderstorm
That will lay you to rest
Cold and alone...

Rain fall down
To wash away the blood of the innocent
And make a place for the blood of the guilty

Pushed to the edge
The rain will avenge
Pushed to the edge
I will avenge
